Summer days spent on lake Puruvesi and visiting water and amusement park Kesämaa in Punkaharju. Those two things were the best traditions our family had during my childhood summers. Everyone has their own traditions. These two are very dear to me and I want to pass them on. And by doing so I hope to give joy to my children and at the side have some fun for myself too 🙂
Me and my husband have adopted the tradition to spend summers on the lake Puruvesi with our children. Visiting Kesämaa once a summer is new to us. Now when Unna is already four years old I decided that it was time to change this. It was time to take her to the place that holds so many good memories of mine. I asked my sister, and Unna´s godparent, Marianne to join us. She likes amusement parks so she was a perfect person to run after Unna for a day.
For the parents the day in an amusement park may not be the most relaxing one. Keeping eye on your children constantly takes a lot of energy. Especially when you have small children and there’s water around. But our day turned out to be great! It took a lot of energy but it also gave it back. It was such a pleasure to see how Unna and Liilia fully enjoyed the day. And again I noticed that with the right attitude, amusement parks can be fun also for adults. At the best they’re places where you can get connected to your inner child and have fun without any prejudices.
Thank you Marianne for photographing help and for getting reckless with Unna. Thank you also Punkaharjun lomakeskus for offering us the day in Kesämaa.
You´ll see our family again in next summer!
